Welcome to the Dedicated TV Guide!
Common questions will be answered here, as well as other bits of information to help you around our site.
What is Dedicated TV?
Dedicated TV ("DTV") is a site dedicated to bringing you TV episodes!
We take episodes that air on TV in several different countries (mainly US and UK) and immediately upload them to file hosts such as RapidShare and MegaUpload where you can then download those episodes for free!
We don't have torrents (they are bad news), we are here specifically for direct downloads.

Do I need to register?
No!
All content on our site can be viewed by anyone, we aren't a**holes and won't force you to register to view anything.
Registering is optional, it adds features like being able to post on the forums and blog.

How do I download?
It's really simple when you get used to it!
1. Find the download you want, use the search feature if necessary.
2. Download all of the parts. You may see a few links for each TV show or movie, you must download a group of these before you can watch the video - some shows have links from different hosts allowing you to download from multiple sources at the same time making waiting times less.
3. After all has been downloaded, use a program such as WinRAR or 7z to extract the video from the parts you downloaded. If you are asked for a password, look back at the page with the download links and the password will be posted there.
4. Play the video! And enjoy... If you struggle to get the video working, you may not have the correct codecs - read this for the solution.

Site Rules
General Etiquette
While we appreciate that everyone has different views on the boundaries of a joke and accept people making humorous comments, we will not allow people to deliberately offend other members on any grounds. Some people on this site will make comments that are not meant to be taken seriously; if you do have a problem with something another member has said, PM a member of staff who will look into it. Try to avoid arguing with the member and wait for the staff to deal with it.
The chatbox is not a place for arguments between members - settle disputes via private messages or staff intervention.
Multiple Accounts
If users are found to have multiple accounts, for whatever reason (to put in extra votes to a poll or to be argumentative etc), we will remove these accounts without warning. If you simply want a name change, you can make a request to an admin to change your username.
Spoilers
If you see something in a Spoiler box, it will be there for a reason!! If you make use of the spoiler box, please explain outside the box whats been spoilered, e.g. "Prison break spoilers"...

Site Staff
An up to date list of staff members can be found here.
Respect site staff, if you have a problem with another member or a general concern please send a Private Message to a staff member (preferably an admin) - rather than making a public topic.
HTTPS? SSL? What's that?
If you don't want your workplace or school's network geeks (or your ISP) knowing that you are on our site, you can use our secure site to browse in a way that will stop them being able to see what you're doing!

Posting your own downloads
If you would like to post your own download links here on Dedicated TV - feel free - but please make sure you follow our simple rules.
1. Sensible topic names please - no FULL CAPS or.dots.between.each.word.
2. Duplicate posting is OK - you can make a new topic for an episode that already exists, as long as the download links are different (i.e. your own).
3. If a password is needed it must be posted in the topic, please dont link to another website where the password can be found.
4. Real links only - please post links that go directly to the download page, links that go directly to rapidshare for example. Links which redirect through another service such as linkbucks are not allowed.
We currently allow posting from automated bots, but you/they will be banned if the rules above are not followed (and if posts end up in wrong forums).

Dead download links
It's inevitable - at some point download links in topics will "die". This means they have been removed from the file host, either through inactivity or a copyright claim.
If you find a topic with inactive links, please leave a reply and the links will be updated, or post in the requests forum (recommended).

Adult content
We don't frown upon Adult content but we would ask it stays out of the chat box and main forums and is kept to the "Adult" forum.
